Meet the cast of From Yard’s Pilot Episode
Shevrado Oliver as David Heron
“Shevrado Oliver portrays Dave Heron, the central character in From Yard. Heron is from Kingston, Jamaica, and migrates to the U.S. as a child with his family. We experience his joys and heartbreak as he seeks to find his destiny in his adopted country.
Oliver is one of Jamaica's fastest-rising young actors with a growing resume that spans both stage and screen. He can currently be seen on the TVJ series Thicker Than Water and will appear in the upcoming feature films Behind Closed Doors and The Mars Conspiracy.”
Joe Herrera as Detective Ramon Diaz
“Joe Herrera plays the role of Ramon Diaz, Dave’s tough, wise-cracking Parole Officer partner.
Herrera is an accomplished actor with an extensive list of screen credits including the films Inheritance and Let There Be Light and television series such as BET's The Family Business, FOX TV's The Resident, and Ghostwriter.”
Glen Campbell as Mr.Duncan
“Glen Campbell appears as Mr. Duncan, the ill-tempered Jamaican shopkeeper whose life is made consistently miserable by the boyhood pranks of Dave and his friends.Campbell is an award-winning actor and one of the most versatile and prolific Jamaican artists of his generation. His screen credits include films such as Third World Cop, Sprinter, Joseph, and BBC One's Small Island.”
David Herron as Samuel Heron
David Heron portrays Samuel Heron, Dave's stern but loving father who moves to the US before the rest of his family. He works hard to take care of them.
Heron is an award-winning Playwright, Producer, and Actor. His screen appearances include Power, HBO's How To Make It In America, and the African soap opera Ya Ma Africa.
Darron Donaldson as Trevor
Darron Donaldson plays the role of Trevor- aka Sonny- Dave's ambitious, charismatic cousin who arrives in the U.S. illegally, determined to succeed by whatever means necessary.
Donaldson is an actor and model who has been featured in music videos with Stephen Marley and Shenseea as well as campaigns for brands such as Mastercard, Digicel and Jamaica National General Insurance. From Yard represents his first major acting role.

Miranda Melhado as Lisa
Miranda Melhado appears as Lisa, a Latina teenager and high school dropout who has turned to prostitution and who is known to Dave and his partner Ramon Diaz.
Miranda graduated from the University of Southern California (USC) with a BA in acting and has appeared as a model in campaigns for brands such as McDonald's, Goli Gummy Bears, and Synergy Kombucha. From Yard will mark her professional screen acting debut.
Adam Christian as Young Dave
Adam Christian plays the role of young Dave Heron, seen in flashback scenes of Dave's childhood in Jamaica.
Adam is a student at The American International School in Kingston ( AISK) and has appeared in several of his school's theatrical productions. From Yard marks his professional acting debut.
Claire Dennison as Madeline Heron
Jamaican born Claire Dennison makes her professional screen acting debut as Madeline Heron, mother to From Yard 's lead character, Dave Heron. She is the only member of the cast to have been personally acquainted with the real-life character she portrays. Claire began her acting career in high school while in Jamaica. She was subsequently recommended for a scholarship to the Jamaica School of Drama by renowned Jamaican folklorist Louise Bennett Coverley- aka Miss Lou- following her performances of several of Miss Lou's poems throughout western Jamaica. She also holds a diploma in theater from LaGuardia Community College in New York
